Things have been slow here because of bodily aches and pains (the perks of working in front of the computer for too long). I haven’t cooked anything this week because of ‘em. Dan has been such a good sport — cooking the other night and cleaning up after. Ahhh…what good life! Haha.
Having been deprived of cooking and currently stuck with the inability to knead dough for my next projects — soft pretzels and bagels — I have to satisfy my food and kitchen quota somehow.
Yesterday afternoon, after a full day of running around to figure out all these aches that I shouldn’t be feeling till I’m twice as old, I succumbed to the devil’s hiss of window shopping. While waiting for Dan to get out of work, I found myself at our usual stop: Williams-Sonoma. I drooled over the KitchenAid stand mixer that I really shouldn’t get right now, and ended up buying cute (and huge!) kitchen towels.
Don’t the citrus colors make you smile? [Just roll with the sick one 'ere. Haha] I just couldn’t leave the store without them! :-)
Now it’s your turn to spill — What have you purchased for your kitchen lately? What indulgence did you allow yourself?
Speaking of, I want some chocolate pudding pie now.
Right, right…I gotta go. I was advised less computer time. Ciao!
** Note: This is not a sponsored post. I wish. Do you hear me, Williams-Sonoma?!? :-)

I haven’t purchased anything lately, but with a smaller kitchen we have been looking at the pot-n-pan holders at Ikea. For less than $10, you can get a rod with hooks for holding pots and pans. Now we just need to get the ambition to make the trip!

Oh, I was wondering why you were so quiet over here. I hope you get better soon and spoil us with more beautiful food.
I haven’t bought anything for my kitchen lately, either. Next thing I need to get is a mixer :D

i loved this post! i think we all lust after something for our kitchens. i don’t LOVE to cook, but baking is super fun. i also love to try out new recipes that i see on TV.
i recently did receive the kitchenaid mixer you’re lusting after. incidentally, i have my “old” one still for sale. it’s not the big huge professional model, and the top swings up. it’s for sale for about $75. i just thought i’d throw that at you in case you were in the market. you likely already have one, and are just wanting to upgrade like i did.
anyway, i love your blog. thought i’d finally drop you a line! btw, around christmas (probably the day after) i posted a pic of my older mixer in case you thought you might want to check it out.
Cheers! :)

Moneyloveandchange — We LOVE Ikea! Lots of good stuff in there. I think like you, it’s a trek and a half to go there.
Ben — Trying…but my body is punishing me. Hehe. I hear you. Hope you get it soon. It makes some things a helluva lot easier.
Amy — Thanks girl. We’re just starting out with the baking — always a hit or miss. Haha. Thanks for letting me know, we’ll think about it. That sounds like a great deal! I’ll have a look at it on your blog. No, we don’t have one that’s why I’m torn between getting you’re old one or go straight to the pro series. Thanks a lot for your kind words. :)
for easter, my mom got me new williams sonoma dishtowels, along with matching placemats and oven mitts! i wasn’t expecting anything more than a chocolate bunny, so i’m a very happy girl!!! it’s a good thing, too, because i accidentally set one of my dishtowels on fire this weekend, and it had to be retired… (oops!)
