I love artichokes! I cut the top flat like you did, take the tips of the leaves off with kitchen scissors, cut the stem flat and leave the water in it from washing. Then rub all over with half a lemon, put the lemon over the cut top. I then put it, wrapped in plastic, in the microwave for four minutes upright, three minutes upside down. Then I dip the tips of the leaves in an olive oil – wine vinegar – smashed garlic clove – oregano – Lea & Perrin dressing, oh and add some more lemon juice from the other half of the lemon. Clean out the choke and cut the heart up and dunk in the dressing. Delicious and satisfying.

LOL, you are not alone. I had never ever had an artichoke before. I know how to open a coconut, though :-p Thanks for the guide, next time I go to the store I will get one and try to cook it. I won’t know what to compare it to, but I’ll let you know how my adventures went :-p

There’s this yummy artichoke dip in a restaurant here in the Philippines. I don’t know how to make it, though. But maybe if you do a Google search, something might come up. (:

I don’t eat veggies but that dip is yum-o!
